The Izard County Library consists of three branch libraries; The Melbourne Library which opened in 1951, The Calico Rock Library which opened in 1959, and The Horseshoe Bend Library which opened in 1974. Funding is provided by a county-wide one-mill property tax. Calico Rock and Horseshoe Bend also receive additional funding from their cities.
The three branches provide programs and services to the residents of Izard County and the surrounding areas. The Izard County Library is governed by the five-member Izard County Library Board and receives services from the White River Regional Library.
